Joel Willenbring  

 Joel is a original member of  THE LIVELY ONES which is a cutting edge classic surf band from (1960 -1970).  SURF RIDER was the top selling LP at Wallachs in Hollywood for over three months in 1963 and was used  in Quentin Tarantino’s  movie PULP FICTION.  THE LIVELY ONES received a Platinum Album in 1994 for the song “SURF RIDER” that was used in the movie and on the PULP FICTION soundtrack.  

Other big hits were GOOFY FOOT and  PARADISE COVE.  Del Fi Records released five LIVELY ONES  albums in twelve months, with an additional seven albums and a few singles released over a ten year span.   Because of their  everlasting  popularity many of the original albums were re-released in the 80’s and 90’s on compact disc. 

Joel released his new CD RETRACING TIME  March, 2000. His group AGE OF REASON, wrote, composed , arranged, and performed all songs on the CD.  The CD is a culmination of Joel’s musical experience and showcases his talent for playing  unforgettable sax riffs.

Accomplishments

·        Produced, composed and performed all songs on the CD RETRACING TIME

·        Recieved a Platnium Album for the song SURF RIDER used on the PULP FICTION soundtrack

·         Toured the Western US playing  at numerous clubs including: Hollywood Bowl and in Las Vegas

·        Worked with  many artists including Ann Margaret, Jan and Dean, Glenn Campbell, Lou Rawls, The Ventures, Sonny and Cher ,The Beach Boys, and others.
